Combine scaly sequins, soft knotted tulle, polished patent and velvety suede to create an outfit with textural interest.

The tulle scarf is slung over my shoulders. Polished yellow gold nails, by O.P.I.

As you can see, Forrest Chase is having… a makeover!!

A tiny touch of sequins attracts the eye and ‘lifts’ an ordinary black outfit. In days gone by, sequins were for costumes, ball gowns or dressy affairs. Now, they’re part of the ‘day to night’ glitter trend. This thrifted, sequined top had buttons and sleeves. I cut both sleeves and all buttons off, to create… a vest! Tip: Garish tops can be worn under jackets, as vests. Only ever expose just a hint! The Shakuhachi ‘tail’ singlet is used as a layering piece under the Nicola Finetti jacket.

Ponte pants tucked into Leona Edmiston suede boots and Nina Maya suede/patent carpet bag, complete the look.

The sleeves and ornate gold buttons will now go into my sewing basket and may come in handy…one day!

Seems printed pants are NOT just for girls. Guys are trending floral or birdie prints as well chinos in electric shades. WooHoo!! Pare them with slimline sports jackets.

Pants are cropped or rolled. Bare ankles or exposed zany sox, such as this look above today, worn by Travis, from Myer/Hugo Boss. White sneakers, leather boat shoes, slip-ons and canvas espadrilles are on the move.
