Sunday Stripes & Shorty Shorts

Found myself at a tranquil, lakeside, garden nursery and cafe for a big Sunday brekky and family time. We all love shorts and if you are under 25, or a size 6/8 model shape then shorts are a breeze….. but for the rest of us…. they can be very tricky to wear!! Don’t give up – persevere. Go for a bigger size and drop shorts down to the hips so they become loose, baggy and most importantly, longer! Alternatively, if wearing shorter, more fitted shorts, try wearing a singlet and then pop on an open, long-line (mid-calf or knee length), floaty vest or overshirt – a great disguise. Wear with confidence and a smile.

This ‘box’ shaped, silk, Country Road Tee is loose, floaty and easy to wear on a hot day. The electric blue stripes are offset by the faded out, Guess ripped denim shorts. This shade of blue, begs to be teamed with pops of yellow, orange or green, so here I have added a statement green belt and piles of Design Studio orange beads. Tip, wear a bright bandeau underneath and slouch wide necked tops over one shoulder to create a casual effortless style.

Style hunted!  These on trend, high-waisted ‘Gidget’ shorts looked sensational on Claudia. Note the exposed zip, shirred waist and frilly edging – too cute. Love the tassled sass & bide macrame satchel as well.

Style hunted!  French Fashion House, Balmain included ‘Stars and Stripes’ into their 2011 range and since then it has emerged as a big trend for street wear. These white denim cut-off, frayed shorts looked fabulous on this young shopper.
