Soul, Funk, Motown, Blues & Style

It was a Friday nite fest at the Ellington Jazz Club in Northbridge. Friend and sensational jazz singer, Ali Bodycoat was to perform FRANKLIN, an Aretha Franklin tribute, to a sell-out crowd. There was a buzz in the air, as the gang arrived in droves! It was an opportunity to frock up and celebrate Ali’s big nite in style. My limey citrus, Spanish style dress above, by Trelise Cooper was a rare Vinnies find. Croc-look clutch by Leona Edmiston.

Margaret looked effortlessly chic in her akira, strappy, terracotta silk dress. Her eclectic mix of jewellery and gorgeous Marc Jacobs pouch added individuality.

I was snap happy outside the club! Ellen’s flowing Charlie Brown kaftan wowed us all.

Same, same, same! Our Django & Juliette wedges were a popular choice for the evening.

Parisian Chic chose a smudged, silk, water-print S2 dress. It draped gently at the front and had drawstring sides. Love the sass & bide copper belt, copper toned wedges and violet purple toe trim.

Guess who??? PC and her Alistair Trung studded pouch.

Past, Present, Future…. Parisian Chic’s mama Lynn, will always reign supreme as queen of style! She too wore an S2 creation. Piece 1, was an electric blue silk slip. Piece 2, was a silk, kimono style, sheer black overlay. Lynn then cleverly ‘hip-tied’ the pieces together with a vibrant, silk scarf to add a hoopla of colour!!

Showtime and Ali is cool and calm.

Bubbles to celebrate Franklin ….a triumphant success! Ali wore stunning Aurelio Costarella outfits before and throughout the show.
