Shorts… Dressed Up, Dressed Down

Shorts have come of age! They’re not just for the beach or the park. Think leather, lace, denim, linen, frayed, floral, flouro, dip-dyed. The list goes on and on. Dress them up or dress them down… they’re fun, fab and suitable to wear just about anywhere. Gotta love versatility!

Dressed Down. Denim shorts, faded, frayed and slung low on the hips. Add a touch of camouflage and pull on a pair of boots and you’re done.

Tip: To add rips and frays, use sharp scissors to cut small slits, then pull threads with a pair of tweezers. It’s so easy… just start off small. It does take time!

Dressed Up and ready to party! Witchery, black, baggy, suede shorts and a lightweight blazer are an easy fix for drinkys or a dinner date. The blazer is the ‘key’ item, as it adds sophistication. Ankle boots add edge!

This Wish ‘Proxy’ blazer has been a best-seller! It’s been repeated in several colours, over several seasons. It’s still available in mint, mustard and purple, Tip: always push jacket sleeves up, for relaxed style! The leather pouch is a Leona Edmiston fave. Suede, pull-on riding boots by Windsor Smith, vintage leather belt, Bali chunky chain bracelet and ‘Bling’ necklace a sentimental gift, made by EllaCourtneyStyle.

Gently fold sleeves for a cropped-cap tee look. Tuck gently to create shape. Ellery cream tee and Ellery Lucid Quixote Shades complete the outfit.

Tip: Always buy shorts one or two sizes too big! This way they can be worn lower on the hips which adds extra length. Remember… “Dare to wear and smile if they stare!”
