Shorts Affair

After yesterday’s casual shorts affair, the big challenge today was to wear ‘appropriate’ shorts to work. These long fitted (walk) shorts are dark and dressy but very figure hugging! The long drapey vest was chosen for two reasons. Firstly as a master disguise for backbumps and hiplumps and secondly to add lengthy, layering interest. With a black fitted singlet underneath, the outfit was all a bit dull and boring, so the animal print cardi, doubling as a scarf, was used to give ‘life’ to the plain plum vest.

The long, frayed, sass & bide shorts are fun, but make the leg appear shorter as they sit low on the hip and crop at the knee. A low wedge helps add height. The silk, long line ‘vest’ designed by Melbourne label TV, is actually a dress and normally buttons up the middle. The leopard cardi is by camilla and marc. Many clients ask if animal prints are “in”. Animal prints NEVER go “out” of fashion, so wear confidently and passionately. Shades and metal belt are much loved ‘Op’ finds. Jewellery by Joy.

John was ready to update his workstyle. His office doesnt have a strict suit/tie policy, so he is able to wear a more relaxed, yet smart look. John has perfect proportions and wears clothes well, so he was a styling dream. He was happy to try a selection of colours other than ‘safe’ blue and went home with some great choices. Here he is wearing Politix mauve slimfit cotton shirt and college grey tapered trousers.

This burgundy pinstripe shirt has interesting cuff and neck detailing. The colour was a knockout with the silver grey, lightweight 100% wool trousers. John brought his own black belt and shoes from home (pictured), which would work well with a white shirt. However, it’s a bit overpowering with this outfit so opted to purchase a matte, brown belt and matching shoes. Good decision!
