Roses Only

Anyone for tea? The revival of the traditional High Tea has proven to be incredibly popular.

All girlies love a tea party, especially if bubbles and tasty morsels are involved! Recently, my lovely friend Terri, held a delightful, fundraiser, High Tea. I love to dress for the occasion (something I learnt from my mum) and couldn’t decide between…..

…my lovely Leona Edmiston, ‘Roses Only’ dress or a feminine 50’s, ‘Audrey’ inspired dress I found on an opping trip about 8 years ago. As I’m such a vintage fan, ‘Audrey’ won.

The ‘Mad-Men’ TV show has boosted the revival of vintage dressing. This one off, hand-made dress, has a silk-chiffon rose print overlay, metal side zip and pussy-bow. The patent, vintage kitten heels are handmade in Spain. The embroidered purse bag was also a Vinnies find. Leona Pins complete my old world look.

Ding dong….anyone home?

Flowers, cupcakes, champagne and pots of tea and coffee were in order for the afternoon delight!

If a pretty invite arrives in the mail inviting you to a tea party or birthday brunch, it’s the perfect opportunity to ‘frockup!’. That can be a BIG challenge, especially if you don’t want to spend too much!! For interests sake, I went on a Myer ‘hunt’ for a ‘Top Tea Party Frock’. The winner above is…this ‘Fleurette’ floral dress. Myer UnModel Miss Suzi, kindly offered to show it off. Designer Fleur Wood does a well priced,(around $100) feminine ‘Fleurette’ range exclusive to Myer. Worth a peek.
