Perth Fashion Festival 2012: Fashion Forward

Time to add some sparkle and fluoro pizzazz to my Perth Fashion Festival outfits! It was to be a BIG night with two much anticipated shows. The Student Runway first, followed by Ae’lkemi by Alvin Fernandez.

The Student Runway show is one of my favourite PFF events (I guess because I used to design and sew all my own outfits back in my student days). It’s a fun show that celebrates the freedom of creative expression. Young, fashion forward individuals, step out in style with their peers.

I created a bold, statement outfit to fit with the occasion. Time for a few quick snaps on the steps with lovely Nicole. She’s wearing sass & bide and I’m wearing a sass & bide sequin jacket (available instore now) and the rest, lets say… it’s an AndAndrea creative combo (mainly op shop bits and pieces!) Oh and MAC Fuschia lips!

The foyer was full of familiar faces and, as I was busy chatting, Nicole was busy snapping! Top (L) My fab friends, Sharon Connell and Lisa Earle. Top (R) Stylist guru AliMay. I was most impressed with her Robert Clergerie shoulder bag. A masterpiece!! Bottom (L) Eleni Evangel and stunning daughter. Bottom (R) Lord Mayor, Lisa Scaffidi and guest. Lisa attends every single parade. Love her excitement, support and enthusiasm for the Perth Fashion Festival.

Emerging talent shining! The fashion future looks bright.

A tiny snapshot above, of the incredibly talented student designs.

Round Two…Excitement is building as crowd favourite Ae’lkemi, is about to begin. Looky, looky who’s in the crowd. Di Bauwens Social Editor, Pip Christmass Fashion Editor and Ross McRae AAA Editor, all at The West.

I got the pick of the seats, as I sat with my style darlings, Jerrie Demasi and Jenna Clarke. Hush, hush the show’s about to begin…

Elegant classic designs, featuring feathers, beading and delicate silks. Simply breathtaking.
