Pearls and Pastels

After a morning styling session, its coffee break time. With wishful thinking, this laneway next to Myer might one day spawn little expresso bars and micro cafes just like Melbourne. For now tho, there’s no hustle and bustle, it’s just a graffiti-lined, empty walkway. Oh … potential! I’m wearing a little ‘tone on tone’ pastel creation and yes, again, my fave boyfriend jeans. The layered ‘top’ is an old Myer Miss Shop frayed and torn skirt. I pulled it up and turned it into a top. The vest is from Zara Singapore. It’s actually a button thru top and worn open, creates an outer layer. The nude strappy wedges are by Tony Bianco Myer and piles of pink beads and pearls complete the look.

We all love Leo’s coffee at Bocellis Cafe in Forrest Chase. ‘Hello Bella’ he says and  smiles as he expertly makes my quirky coffee order! Leo makes my day!

On one of my frequent trips down to the basement in Myer, I spotted this new babysoft cream jacket by Lola Vs Harper. I couldnt resist trying it on because I love the layered, fringed look. Some laughed and assured me it looked like a mop. Meh, that’s what clothes are all about…some like, some dislike… its all fun.

It’s always a pleasure when Tanya and her gorgeous daughter Tyla come into Myer for styling. Tanya had done a massive wardrobe cleanout last weekend and was after some new winter clothes. She knew she was about 2 weeks too soon because we’re in seasonal transition, however Myer always has something for everyone. Our search began. Tanya is tall and has a toned athletic shape. She loves ‘manstyle’ and it really works for her. She wanted easy wear, understated, comfortable travel clothes, because a special trip is planned. These Country Road, stretch jeggings and the forest green, merino wool, V-neck jumper, ticked all the boxes. The scarf softened the look. Boots and a 3/4 jacket are next on her wish list. Tanya happily left with the ‘beginnings’ of her new winter wardrobe.

The right shoes really finish off any outfit. I suggested to Tanya that “Day Slippers” or “loafers” are hot items to look out for. These Basque loafers are the perfect shape. The Myer City shoe department has just had a revamp and it’s definitely worth a visit!
