Fringe World Festival 2013

Northbridge is in party mode! The Fringe World Festival is in full swing and it’s a perfect destination on a balmy Summer’s eve.

‘Dressing Down’. Cool, comfy and casual, muted manning cartell shift, lime bandeau and Bali thong sandals.

Expanding on the success of last year’s festival, this year there are over 50 venues. Fringe is a ‘choose-your-own-adventure-festival’. There’s a smorgasbord of live entertainment…comedy, cabaret, circus, dance, music, theatre and free street performers. Tickets vary in price from $20-$40.

Bars, tents, food stalls and marquees help create a mardi gras feel.

Gidget girls and pretty coloured lanterns… all part of the fun.

Street performers with amazing acro skills, move their ‘Burning Man-esque’ contraption around the street square.

Time for a drinky…

We headed on down a Melbourne-style alley to quirky, small bar, Ezra Pound.

Then some old-fashioned, traditional Italian fare.

Always time for a wander and a little ‘window’ shopping after dinner! Was thrilled to see talented W.A. designer, Henry King’s ‘Hak’ Pocket Tees (above L) in the window of StreetX Pop Up on William.

After all that walking it was time for a Bali-style foot massage…a nice way to finish off a fab little night!!

Fringe is on until February 24. Northbridge is all sparkly and dressed up for this party, so do join in the festival fun and make a night of it!
